Robocognito is a Seattle-based start-up specializing in virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality applications. Our name is a combination of two words:
- Robot: A nod to futuristic technology.
- Cognition: The process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience and the senses.
Custom VR simulations
Robocognito creates custom virtual reality simulations to improve the quality and efficiency of traditional training and education, and to help make dangerous occupations safer.
In traditional training, students get to practice hands-on skills a limited number of times because training in a real-life setting is time consuming and resource intensive. Extra practice time is simply not possible. Our VR experiences allow students to practice a task in a low-risk, virtual environment as many times as they need to become proficient. This reduces the likelihood of making dangerous or even life-threatening mistakes on the job.
Plus, an authentic simulation gives students a taste for what they are getting into. This can either ignite their passion for a new career earlier or help them discover sooner that an opportunity just isn’t for them. Imagine spending thousands of dollars and months of training only discover you couldn’t tolerate heights. VR simulation saves that time and money for both the student and the organization.
We believe our custom VR experiences will help organizations meet their unique curriculum needs and offer higher quality training that is more efficient and cost effective. We also believe this training will help organizations attract younger workers, who are already using VR technology for fun. This will be especially important for the skilled trades, in which 50 percent of their workforce will need to be replaced in the next decade because of retiring baby boomers.
Our target customers are organizations – like those with apprenticeships for skilled trades – that provide interactive educational opportunities for students.
We think we can transform the way education and training is delivered, that we can help make dangerous occupations safer and we can inspire a new generation to discover careers they hadn’t previously considered.
We’d love to coordinate a time to chat about how our VR experiences may help you.
